Often referred to as 'Little England' due to its cool climate and colonial-era bungalows, Nuwara Eliya is the heart of Sri Lanka's tea production. At an elevation of 1,868 meters, it offers a refreshing escape with its mist-covered mountains, manicured rose gardens, and vast rolling tea estates that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Any of our experiences can be included in your travel itinerary when planning your trip with our travel specialists as we help you plan the best way to include Sri Lankas destinations and experiences into your trip.

Gregory Lake

Constructed in 1873 by the British Governor Sir William Gregory, this man-made lake was originally designed for electricity generation but quickly became a recreational hub. It lies at the heart of the city, reflecting the surrounding hills on its calm surface. Today, it is a vibrant park area where visitors can enjoy swan boat rides, jet skiing, or simply walk along the paved paths. The area comes alive on weekends with food stalls and pony rides, making it a favorite spot for families and picnickers.
